Network infrastructure deserves more credit in the age of AI

No long sermons in this post, just an observation: I don’t think network infrastructure is appreciated nearly enough. We are at a stage where a data center sitting on the other side of the world can wirelessly create a whole application without me having to do anything. Agentic access and remote access are basically the same technology, differing only based on who is in the pilot’s seat.

Beneath all of this, there is a divinely complicated network infrastructure that includes WiFi, copper wires, optic cables, cell towers, underwater inter-ocean cables and FLIPPIN SATELLITES that are taken for granted and not even thought about when you write your prompt and press enter.

If you’re a network engineer, you are my friend without introduction ❤️
